Black Banded Calcite – Pakistan

Black Banded Calcite from Pakistan is known for its dramatic layers of smoky gray, charcoal, black, cream, and translucent white. The natural banding creates beautiful contrast and movement through each piece, with some areas appearing almost glassy or softly translucent when held to the light.

This material is sometimes sold under trade names such as “Zebra Calcite” or “Black Onyx,” but it is a form of banded calcite rather than true onyx. Each piece has its own unique combination of stripes, color transitions, transparency, and natural patterning.

Because Calcite is a natural material, variations in color, banding, inclusions, small pits, surface texture, and internal fractures are normal and make every piece one of a kind.
